“I’m not trying to embellish our view of the Taliban. It’s not a group we trust, they’re not our friends, we’ve never said that. But the reality is that the Taliban controls most of Afghanistan,” she said. she is at a press conference.

However, she clarified that Washington has no reason to believe that the Taliban were involved in the bombings in Kabul, which killed more than 100 people.

A White House spokeswoman added that there was no information in the United States that the Taliban knew about the bombings or were involved in their preparations.

Psaki also said that thanks to cooperation with the Taliban, the United States was able to evacuate more than 100,000 people from Afghanistan. She also confirmed that Washington plans to complete the evacuation from Afghanistan in a timely manner – by August 31, reports kommersant.
