German Chancellor Angela Merkel considers it right for Ukraine to refuse to negotiate with representatives of the “DPR / LPR” .

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Merkel announced this at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.

“Problems with the implementation of the Minsk agreements are structural in nature, because Russia is a party to this conflict. That is why it is right that Ukraine refuses to hold direct talks with representatives of the separatists,” Merkel said.

According to the Chancellor, despite the fact that the Minsk agreements did not lead to a “satisfactory state”, their result was a kind of calming of the situation.
