Duma candidates from United Russia (including those from the top five on the federal list) were quarantined before meeting with Putin

United Russia candidates for the State Duma, who will meet with President Vladimir Putin on August 22, have been quarantined. This was reported by RBC and  Znak.com , citing sources.

According to RBC, a total of 30-35 people from the party’s assets are in quarantine. In particular, the head of the Talent and Success Foundation Elena Shmeleva, who is in the top five of the all-federal list of United Russia, is under quarantine.

There is no data on the other five defendants – RBC notes that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov visited the Kaliningrad Region on August 17, and he has scheduled talks in Moscow for August 19. At the same time, all events with the participation of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu this week have been moved to the online format.

The fact that before the meeting with Putin everyone is put into quarantine for two weeks was first written by the Project in September 2020, later this information was partially confirmed by the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov. The BBC Russian Service wrote in March 2021 that during the pandemic a whole observation system was created for people in contact with Putin, on which billions of rubles were spent.

Putin, in his own words, was vaccinated against the coronavirus in the spring of 2021. He later stated that he had used the Sputnik V vaccine. Later, the media wrote that despite the vaccination, participants in meetings with the president continued to be quarantined.
