A MiG-29 plane crashed in the Astrakhan region. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Ministry of Defense.
The department noted that the plane made a planned flight without ammunition. He fell in a deserted place on the territory of the Ashuluk landfill. The pilot of the plane was killed.
The reasons for the incident are still unclear. A commission from the High Command of the Aerospace Forces has been sent to the site.
On August 17, when landing in the area of the Kubinka airfield in the Moscow region, a prototype of the new Il-112V military transport aircraft crashed. All three crew members on board were killed.
On July 31, a Su-35 fighter crashed in the Sea of Okhotsk. The pilot was able to eject.
