Terrorists from the Taliban have announced the capture of the Afghan city of Kandahar , the capital of the province of the same name. It became the 11th of 34 capitals to come under militant rule.
Official information about the capture of 600,000 Kandahar has not yet been confirmed. But if that turns out to be true, it will be a great strategic victory for the Taliban.
Meanwhile, videos of the Taliban on the streets of Kandahar appeared on social networks.
Referring to locals, Al Jazeera claims that “fierce fighting” is taking place on the city streets. The battles continue in Herat – another large city, which has been under siege for several days.
Earlier in the day, the Taliban took another strategically important city, Ghazni. It is located on the main Kabul-Kandahar highway, which connects the bases in the south with the capital.
The situation in Afghanistan is forcing thousands of people to flee to Kabul, where temporary camps have already been set up. But not everyone has enough space in them, so others have to sleep outdoors.
It was also reported that the Taliban had captured 300,000 Kunduz a few days ago.
