The total number of participants in the inaugural summit of the Crimea Platform has risen to 38 as one more European partner confirmed its attendance.

“Number of the Crimea Platform Summit participants rises to 38. One more European partner has just confirmed attendance. We keep working on expanding the Platform’s international support and the number of its founding members,” Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba posted on Twitter.

The Crimea Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to step up the efficiency of international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security challenges, increase international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupation regime, and achieve the main goal: to de-occupy Crimea and restore Ukraine’s sovereignty over the peninsula.

The Platform is to operate at several levels: heads of state and government, foreign ministers, inter-parliamentary cooperation, expert network.

The activity of the Crimea Platform will be officially launched at the inaugural summit in Kyiv on August 23, 2021.

  • The more the better. I hope something concrete comes out of this summit, and it doesn’t turn out to be yet another all expenses paid hot air extravaganza.

    • One has to assume F1, that the attendees are coming in good faith and not looking to be seen to be supportive of Ukraine whilst diligently working away on the interests of the putinazis. I’m thinking here of France and Germany. I guess we will see who turns up.
In light of the Berlin spy scandal, it is of interest to me to find out what the motivations were for this spy? Honey trap? Cash? Ideology? If the latter, does that mean he is a Marxist who sides with Russia because like all Marxists he wants to help any enemy of Britain? Or is he a new type of spy: a fascist who likes putler’s ideology of thieving, lying, mass murder, deception and land grabs?

  • He must have acted like a bloody beginner if he was caught by the grossly incompetent krauts. Without the work of the British investigators, he would still be spying.
