They were in critical condition in the intensive care unit on a ventilator. The oxygen supply for the rest of the patients is adjusted, they were immediately supplied with oxygen through the reserve cylinders.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the accident was the deterioration of the underground highway leading from the oxygen station to the intensive care unit, a source told Interfax.
The interim head of North Ossetia Sergei Menyailo said that from tomorrow all hospitals in the republic will be provided with a backup oxygen supply.
Previously, cases of death of patients due to a failure in the supply of oxygen occurred in hospitals in the Moscow Region and Rostov-on-Don . The doctor who reported the death of 13 patients in the Rostov hospital later quit .
