The Russian nuclear submarine “Eagle” lost momentum during the passage through the territorial waters of Denmark .

According to The Barents Observer , the incident occurred on July 30. The ship began to drift, two other ships of the Russian Navy came to his aid.

It is noted that the “Eagle” made the transition from St. Petersburg as part of a group with a tug “Altai” and a missile destroyer “Vice Admiral Kulakov”. Eagle’s problems arose in the lively waters of Denmark, near the city of Aarhus.

The Danish fleet always closely monitors the passage of Russian ships through its territorial waters. On July 30, the Russian group was accompanied by the patrol vessel HDMS Diana. On Facebook, Diana’s team called the situation with Russian ships “dramatic.”

“Escorts from the Baltic Sea will go down in history as dramatic and exciting, because the nuclear submarine” Eagle “class” Oscar-II “had problems with traction and it lost momentum near Seyor, where it began to drift at a speed of 1.5 knots to the side islands “, – it is told in the message of the Danish Navy.

The Danes saw that the crew of the submarine came on deck in life jackets. The Russian tug “Altai” dropped the ropes and prepared to tow a huge submarine. The Danish navy offered to help, but the Russians refused.© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron© Facebook, 3rd Squadron8 / 8

The Russian Navy did not publish any information about the causes of the incident.

It is noted that the Eagle is one of the last three nuclear submarines of the Antey project (according to NATO classification – Oscar-II class), which are part of the Northern Fleet. It was built about 30 years ago, carries missile, torpedo and mine weapons. The infamous Kursk submarine , which crashed in 2000, belonged to the same class of submarines .

Just another day in the rust bucket ‘navy’.

I think I’d be worried that the Life Jackets worked or not.
