Grybauskaite may become NATO’s new secretary general – Politico

Ex-President of Croatia Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, ex-President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite or President of Estonia Kersti Kaljulaid, whose mandate expires in August, may become the new NATO Secretary General in a year, Politico reports .

According to the sources of the publication, it is being discussed that for the first time in the history of NATO, a woman should become its secretary general.

At the same time, the headquarters believe that in conditions of the ongoing confrontation with Russia, the post should be taken by a politician from Eastern Europe – as an ” important signal” for Moscow.

She gets my vote, it’s a pity the useless Stoltenberg doesn’t retire this year.

  • She would be a decent pick. Almost anyone will be an improvement on that Marxist tosspot Stoltenberg.

    • The main thing with her, she hates Putin, which is always a bonus when dealing with Russia.

      • Rasmussen was a very weak NATO leader too. I still would like to know who told him to stand down when the little green men were moving into Ukraine. Who was afraid of a bunch of helicopters transporting men without insignias? It seems to me if soldiers with no insignias are taking buildings they would either be illegal Mercenaries or illegal Terrorists. And NATO and the Budapest signatories did nothing except expel CO2.

        • This is what she said in 2014, her words fell on deaf ears.

“If a terrorist state that is engaged in open aggression against its neighbor is not stopped,” she declared in November 2014, about eight months after Moscow’s annexation of Crimea, “then that aggression might spread further into Europe.”

What NATO finally needs is someone with balls. Dalia Grybauskaite gets my vote. I can’t wait to get rid of the weak, limp-wristed appeasers.
