Pechersk court released one of the most influential “thieves in law”

The thief in law Serhiy Oliynyk ( “Umka” ) was released from custody by the Pechersk court.
This was reported to UNIAN by the spokeswoman of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine Natalia Kalinovska.
According to her, today the Pechersk district court released Serhiy Oliynyk from custody, choosing a measure of restraint in the form of night house arrest.
Kalinovskaya added that the police would file an appeal against Judge Serhiy Vovk’s decision.
As UNIAN reported, Oliynyk, who was considered one of the most influential “thieves in law” in Ukraine, was detained on May 19.
According to Deputy Interior Minister Anton Gerashchenko, he and another “thief in law” nicknamed “Lasha Swan” controlled crime in several regions – Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia and part of the western region.
On May 21, he was remanded in custody.
