The US State Department should not provide the Ukrainian authorities with documents on sanctions against Kolomoisky – the embassy

According to Zn.ua, Kolomoisky will be one of the main issues to be discussed during Zelensky’s visit to the United States.

The US Embassy in Ukraine told Zn.ua that the United States Department of State should not provide the Ukrainian authorities with any documents regarding sanctions against oligarch Igor Kolomoisky .

” First,” under current regulations, the United States does not provide common packages of documentation that are used to impose sanctions on corrupt officials in the United States. ” Secondly, “Mr. Kolomoisky is a citizen of Ukraine who has committed most of his corrupt actions in Ukraine against a Ukrainian company, and Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have every authority to investigate these crimes in order to bring Mr. Kolomoisky to justice for any crimes he may have , committed “ “, – it is told in the message.

Earlier, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said that the issue of sanctions against Kolomoisky would be considered when the US received the relevant documents on the Ukrainian oligarch. Instead, Zn.ua concluded that the unwillingness of the National Security and Defense Council to impose sanctions on Kolomoisky in Ukraine was not dictated by any external factors.

” It is so much stronger than the instinct of self-preservation that it has forced open manipulation and transfer of responsibility to the US government, where, unlike Ukraine, Kolomoisky is not only sanctioned but also investigated and prosecuted on charges of financial fraud and money laundering. “, – noted in the publication.

In addition, according to Zn.ua, the White House requested from US law enforcement agencies information about the activities of Igor Kolomoisky during the preparations for the visit of President Vladimir Zelensky to the United States. The publication reports that Kolomoisky will be one of the main issues to be discussed during the visit.

It will be recalled that on March 5, 2021, the  United States imposed sanctions against Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky , accusing him of corruption and undermining democracy in Ukraine. Washington claims that from 2014 to 2015, when Kolomoisky headed the Dnipropetrovsk region, he was involved in corrupt practices that undermined the rule of law. Sanctions have also been imposed on the oligarch’s wife Irina Kolomoiskaya, his daughter Angelika Kolomoiskaya and his Israeli son Tzvi Kolomoisky. This means that Kolomoisky and members of his family are barred from entering the United States.

The European Union has  backed US sanctions against Kolomoisky , but Brussels itself “cannot impose sanctions on those responsible for corruption” in Ukraine.

Former US State Department spokesman Kurt Walker said Washington  expects Ukraine to continue investigating Igor Kolomoisky’s “criminal activity.”

Ukrainian presidential spokeswoman  Yulia Mendel believes that US sanctions against Kolomoisky are “just the beginning.”  On March 12, 2021, President Volodymyr  Zelensky stated that he supported the United States’ sanctions against businessman Igor Kolomoisky.  Instead, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said that Ukraine did not respond to US sanctions against Kolomoisky because it had not received the relevant documents .

Zelensky wants the US to do his dirty work for him. He will never sanction the guy that got him elected.

  2. I wish that we would send in a Special Forces group that would either capture Fat Bastard or kill him. I think that all the other oligarchs would shit their pants and become very tame.
