The Ministry of Defense ordered the development of a ship version of the complex “Neptune”

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has ordered the development of a ship version of the R-360 missile of the RK-360MC “Neptune” complex for surface ships of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Research and development work on this topic is currently underway.

To finance the development of the ship version of the R-360 missile complex RK-360MTs “Neptune”, as well as other DCR, including the complex “Alder” and ACS “Bogdan”, provided 5% of the funding of the state defense order for 2021 , 5 billion hryvnia.

In December 2020, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Kyiv State Design Bureau LUCH prepared an agreement for the development of an aviation version of the R-360 missile of the RK-360MC Neptune complex for aviation of the Air Force of the Armed Forces.

Promising carriers of new missile weapons are called Su-24M front-line bombers.

Now RK-360 MC “Neptune” – a complex of surface-to-air cruise missiles with anti-ship missiles designed to destroy warships of cruiser, destroyer, frigate, corvette, landing, tank landing ships and vehicles operating both independently and as part of ship groups landing units, and coastal radiocontrast targets, in simple and complex meteorological conditions at any time of day and year, with active fire and electronic countermeasures of the enemy.

At the end of 2020, the Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the production of the first serial division of the complex.

Currently, as part of one of the units of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine , a pilot operation of the complex with a launcher and special vehicles from KrAZ is underway .

TATRA’s 8×8 chassis has already installed the first Mineral-U radar station to detect surface targets, which was created for the RK-360MC.
