Putin invited Kadyrov to run again for the post of head of Chechnya

Russian President Vladimir Putin invited the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, to stand as a candidate for the upcoming elections for the head of the region.

Putin made such an offer during a videoconference with Kadyrov, after he said that “as a devoted infantryman, he is ready to carry out any order.”

According to Putin, with the personal participation of Kadyrov, “Chechnya has become one of the safest constituent entities of the Russian Federation.”

“You are in the material, you work effectively, you know the situation from the inside, therefore, I believe that you need to go to the polls and continue your work. For my part, I can only wish you success, ”Putin said.

Kadyrov has been in charge of Chechnya since 2007. In 2016, during his last re-election, he received 97.56% of the vote with a turnout of 94.8%.
