Ukraine and the United Kingdom have agreed to jointly design and build warships.
This is stated in a memorandum signed by the Minister for Defense Procurement of the United Kingdom Jeremy Quinn and the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksandr Myronyuk. The document was signed in Odessa on board the missile destroyer of the Royal Navy HMS DEFENDER.
In addition, the memorandum on the implementation of maritime partnership projects between the British industry consortium and the Ukrainian Navy provides for the reconstruction of Ukrainian shipbuilding enterprises and the construction of two bases of the Ukrainian Navy.
“This is another step in the development of bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom to strengthen the Ukrainian fleet, which faces constant danger in the Black and Azov Seas,” – said in a statement on the website armyinform.com.ua .
The signing of the memorandum was attended by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov, First British Lord Admiral Tony Radakin and British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons.
