MOSCOW, June 19. / TASS /. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova called the representatives of the Ukrainian authorities masochists, commenting on the intention to hold an international summit of the “Crimean Platform”.

“Earlier, Kiev leaders wanted to return Crimea. Now desires are more modest – just a bright event is needed. From despair, apparently, they decided to test the proverb“ no matter how much halva you say, your mouth won’t become sweeter. ”“ Masochists, ”she wrote on Saturday in your Telegram channel .

The creation of the “Crimean Platform” was initiated by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to coordinate efforts at the international level to return the peninsula to the jurisdiction of Ukraine. The work of the “Crimean Platform”, according to the plan of Kiev, should begin with the so-called inaugural summit on 23 August. It is planned that the negotiating platform will operate at several levels: heads of state and government, foreign ministers, in the dimension of inter-parliamentary cooperation, in the format of an expert network. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said that the Crimean Platform summit will become the largest international event that Ukraine has hosted before.
