Water supply was cut off in flooded Yalta. The entrance to the city is closed

Update:  One person died during a heavy rainstorm in Yalta, said the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov.

In Yalta, which was flooded due to torrential rains, the water supply is turned off, TASS reports with reference to the mayor of the city Yanina Pavlenko.

In Yalta, schedules for supplying water to the population will be formed, Pavlenko said, urging residents to stock up on water in their apartments.

The Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of Crimea explained that the decision to stop water supply was made due to impurities in the water.

The mayor also said that in the center of Yalta and in the 10th microdistrict, the electricity will be temporarily cut off. She asked the residents of the city to treat the inconvenience with understanding and calmness.

The entrance to Yalta is temporarily closed, a state of emergency has been declared in the city , Pavlenko said in a video message.

The uncontrolled flow of water simply blows away cars, people. Thank God there are no casualties. I ask everyone to stay at home, not to go outside … We do not know what will happen in the next few hours, and we can only hope for the best.

In Crimea, torrential rains have been falling for the second day. Earlier, Kerch flooded, where almost two months of precipitation fell. A regional emergency has been declared on the peninsula. The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said that after assessing the damage caused by the flood, he plans to turn to the federal center for financial assistance.
