Militants  in the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts not controlled by Ukraine have decided to reduce the number of educational institutions. In this regard, schools, colleges, technical schools and universities are being closed en masse.

This is stated in the message of the ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova in her Telegram-channel .

According to her, five schools will be closed and three more will be reorganized in Luhansk, Anthracite, Slavyanoserbsk, Krasny Luch and Sverdlovsk. In addition, the ombudsman indicated that the following educational institutions would be closed and optimized:

  • Sverdlovsk Professional Construction Lyceum;
  • Sverdlovsk College of Culinary Arts;
  • Stakhanov Pedagogical College;
  • Luhansk Vocational and Technical College;
  • College of Technology and Design of Luhansk State Pedagogical University;
  • Yasynuvata College of Donetsk Academy of Management.

Denisova stressed that such actions of the occupiers violate the rights of children to education, because not all children have the opportunity to study in Ukrainian schools.

“In order to continue their studies, they will be forced to get to educational institutions in other settlements, somewhere tens of kilometers away,” said the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.

As UNIAN reported earlier, LDNR militants do not allow entrants  into the territory controlled by Ukraine. Ukrainian law enforcement officers opened a criminal case.

    They don’t need doctors, engineers or scientists in the occupied part of Donbass, they need cannon fodder. Besides that, the young people are fleeing to free Ukraine anyway.
