Vladimir Zelensky met with the co-chairman of the German party “Union 90 / Greens”

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi met with Robert Habek, co-chairman of the German Soyuz 90 / Greens party. The interlocutors discussed the course of the election campaign for the German Bundestag.
Volodymyr Zelensky drew attention to the positive dynamics of the party’s electoral support for voters, and also expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation with all German political forces, including the Soyuz 90 / Greens party.
The President thanked Germany for its continued support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The participants stressed the inadmissibility of Russia’s aggressive actions, which pose a threat to peace and stability in Europe, such as the recent increase in the number of Russian troops on Ukraine’s borders.
The President informed about the security situation in Donbass and informed about the risks of concentration of Russian troops on the Ukrainian border. He also spoke about the steps Ukraine is taking to achieve peace. The President welcomed Robert Habek’s decision to travel to the demarcation line in the east.
“I appreciate your decision. You will be able to see with your own eyes the real picture of Russian aggression against Ukraine. I hope that what you saw in Donbass will help strengthen the position of your political force in support of Ukraine, “the President said.
Volodymyr Zelensky and Robert Habek also discussed Ukraine’s European integration. In particular, the President noted the importance of giving Germany a political signal regarding the European perspective of the Ukrainian state.
For his part, Robert Habek praised Ukraine’s efforts to implement the European integration course and noted the readiness of its political force for constructive cooperation in this direction.
The interlocutors discussed the risks that the implementation of the Nord Stream-2 project may cause. Volodymyr Zelensky and Robert Habek agreed that this was a geopolitical project, not an economic one.
During the discussion of energy cooperation, the parties expressed mutual interest in implementing joint projects in support of the European Green Course, as well as in the framework of the Energy Partnership between Ukraine and Germany.
