Lufthansa flight LH1487 leaving for Frankfurt was delayed at the Minsk National Airport on the afternoon of May 24.
According to the press service of the airport, shortly before the departure, an anonymous message was sent to his e-mail about the intention to commit a terrorist attack on this flight.
The boarding of the flight, which was scheduled to depart at 14:20, has been suspended.
At the moment, procedures are underway to re-inspect the aircraft and everything that will be transported on it … We apologize for the flight delay due to reasons beyond our control. We hope for an understanding that all measures taken are aimed at ensuring the protection of the life and health of citizens.
On May 23, a Ryanair passenger plane, flying from Athens to Vilnius, urgently landed at the Minsk airport. Before that, a false report was received about a bomb planted on board. In the skies over Belarus, he was accompanied by a MiG-29 military fighter.
Among the passengers on board were the former editor-in-chief of the telegram channel Nexta Roman Protasevich, who is included in the list of persons involved in terrorist activities in Belarus, as well as his girlfriend, a citizen of the Russian Federation, Sofya Sapega. Both of them were detained. After inspection and a seven-hour delay, the liner continued its flight to Vilnius.
