Putin joins list of Nobel Peace Prize candidates

The preliminary list of nominees includes 286 people

Russian president Vladimir Putin is now on the list of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize nominees. Writer and scientist Sergei Komkov who actually offered the Nobel Committee to consider Putin’s candidacy said so as quoted by RIA Novosti

“I received [the letter]. “Your candidate has been added to the list”, they replied”, Komkov said.

Komkov added that the overall number of candidates for the prize this year is being updated yet, but the preliminary list of nominees includes 286 people.

The writer also reiterated that Putin already was a nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014.

The laureaute(s) of Nobel Peace Prize are traditionally announced in Oslo on December 10. The prize is awarded annually.

In January 2021, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda nominated Belarus opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya for the Nobel Peace Prize. A source reported that the politician did so to show his support for the Belarusian democratic movement and its demand for free elections.

  1. “Russian president Vladimir Putin is now on the list of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize nominees.”
    This is downright perverted.
Might as well give the Nobel peace prize to Hitler and Stalin too. It seems like warmongers are highly qualified for this prize.
What is wrong with this world???
