The Kremlin threatens to sever all the relations with Ukraine after following the sanctions imposed against Russian companies.

“We will soon reach such a level of relations with Ukraine that there will be no more room for reciprocity. Both for the first steps and those based on reciprocity. We will sever everything that we have. This is bad. And such news can only be taken with deep regret,” Peskov said on Monday.

This was Peskov’s answer to a question from an UNIAN correspondent in Russia how the Kremlin reacted to the news about the sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine on Russian companies, and whether there would be reciprocal actions.

Answering another question whether the sanctions against the representative office of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation, or Rossotrudnichestvo, in Kyiv threaten the work of the Ukrainian Cultural Center in Moscow, he said: “Listen, you know nobody has canceled the principle of reciprocity. Of course, the Russian side will react in such a way and in a way that is best consistent with our own interests.”

Sanctions against Russia: What is known

  • On March 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky enforced a resolution by the National Security and Defense Council dated April 2, 2021, to impose personal sanctions on the country’s so-called “top ten smugglers.” These are Vadym Alperin, Ivan Bokalo, Oleksandr Chudakov, Volodymyr Didukh, Orest Firmaniuk, Oleksandr Kravchenko, Yuriy Kushnir, Valeriy Peresoliak, Viktor Sherman, and Oleksandr Yerimichuk.
  • In addition to these individuals, on the sanctions list are 68 companies affiliated with them. Separately, restrictive measures were introduced against 11 Russian companies, including Rossotrudnichestvo.

  • Do it, don’t talk about it. I’m sure you can buy what you need from your bosses in China.

    • Gosh, you mean Hitler 2.0 might pull out his spies from Ukraine?
      Yeah, right…
Zelensky should beat him to the punch and declare another Marshall law that keeps the Moskali out until the occupations are ended. What could possibly be wrong with that? So Grannies can’t go to Mordor to visit relatives. Ok, that’s sad, but it might help prevent them from being kidnapped and tortured too. If any try to enter Ukraine, arrest them and use them for trade fodder.

  • In response, Zelensky should go ahead and close the Embassy in Muscovy and any consulates. There is no basis for diplomatic relations at this point, as long as Russia sits on Ukrainian soil and imprisons Ukrainian citizens for being Ukrainian.

One thing should be pointed out. Russia long discriminated against Ukrainians. The 1st Defense Minster of Ukraine noted that. It was thought his father was Russian, but it turned out he was Ukrainian. He would never have gone beyond leaf Colonel if he had been Ukrainian.
