MOSCOW, March 22. / TASS /. The situation in world politics obliges Russia to take into account all possible threats from the West, including disconnecting the country from the international system for transferring interbank payments SWIFT. This was announced on Monday by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.
“We cannot rule out any of the potential threats,” the Kremlin spokesman said. “You see that the sanctions aspirations of our opponents, especially the United States of America, continue, continue on an increase.”
“These actions are unreasonable and unpredictable. In this case, such a situation obliges us to be on the alert,” Peskov emphasized, commenting on the words of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who announced the need to move away from the use of international payment systems controlled by the West.
In an interview with Chinese media, Lavrov pointed to the importance of reducing sanctions risks by strengthening its technological independence and switching to settlements in national currencies and in world currencies alternative to the dollar. He explained the need to “strengthen its independence” by the US attempts to limit the possibilities of technological development for both the RF and the PRC.

Maybe if Muscovy stopped being a state sponsor of terrorism, sanctions wouldn’t be needed, have you never thought of that Lavrov?
