A new audio recording of a purported conversation between Vladimir Putin’s ally in Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk and Vladislav Surkov, former aide to the Russian president, has been leaked.
The talks cover the railway hub of Debaltseve in Donbas, as well as the negotiations between Russian proxy forces and the SBU security service of Ukraine, OBOZREVATEL reports.
The outlet says its journalists received audio recordings from “reliable sources”.
In total, the file contains three episodes, while the dates have not been specified.
Thus, the participants in the conversation discuss ties with the “DPR” terrorist “minister of defense” Kononov (call sign “Tsar”), possible corruption schemes in the occupied territories (cash deliveries to Debaltseve), as well as the founding of a “Council of Cities”.
It is noted that Surkov allegedly voiced to Medvedchuk his vision of the Minsk agreements and the special status for Donbas. His interlocutor, proceeding from the interaction, took an active part in drafting the scenario Moscow was preparing for Donbas.
It is noteworthy that the parties are discussing contacts between Kononov and a man who goes by the name of “Sergei Sergeevich”. Medvedchuk purportedly explains that “Sergei Sergeevich” is in fact First Deputy Chairman of the SBU, Vasyl Hrytsak.
“There is a request, Slava. Sergei Sergeevich reached out to ‘Tsar’, right? He’s not Sergei Sergeevich though, he’s … He’s Hrytsak, the first deputy chairman of the SBU. And he goes: ‘Do you know who you’re talking to?’ He says: ‘Let’s meet on neutral territory, discuss the railway hub, Debaltseve, and the delivery… And that guy went: ‘Come on, who do you think you’re talking to?’ Perhaps he needs to take a hint somehow that that man isn’t some low-profile official, he’s Colonel General, by the way,” says the man on the recording whose voice resembles that of Medvedchuk.
In response, Surkov promises to try to do something about it.

In April, Ukrainian media published what they claimed was a leaked recording of a conversation that took place in 2014 between Medvedchuk and Surkov, where they discussed power supplies to the occupied Crimea and prisoner exchange in Donbas.
The conversation concerns the supply scheme where the Russian Inter RAO and its bodies on the occupied peninsula are involved.
The SBU has questioned Viktor Medvedchuk over the first part of leaked tapes.
Speaking about prisoner swap, Medvedchuk purportedly tells Surkov it was the then-president, Petro Poroshenko, who invited him to engage in the release of prisoners.
Viktor Medvedchuk has been targeted in a package of sanctions, imposed by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

В распоряжение OBOZREVATEL попала новая аудиозапись разговоров, голоса на которых похожи на нардепа от “Оппозиционной платформы – За жизнь” Виктора Медведчука и экс-помощника президента России Владислава Суркова.
Аудио редакция получила от достоверных источников. Всего в файле представлены три эпизода (чтобы прослушать аудиозапись, доскролльте до конца страницы).
В них стороны обсуждают связи с “министром обороны” террористов “ДНР” Кононовым, коррупционные схемы на оккупированных территориях (поставка наличных в Дебальцево), а также создание некого Совета городов.
Кроме того, судя по записи, якобы Сурков озвучивал Медведчуку свое видение Минских соглашений и особого статуса Донбасса. Его собеседник, исходя из диалога, принимал активное участие в прописывании сценария, выгодного стране-агрессору России.

С: Да, потому что они там Даму сначала наименовали. Дама хорошо, но мало.

Медведчук: Есть просьба, Слав. Там с “Царем” связался Сергей Сергеевич, да? Он не Сергей Сергеевич, он вообще… Это Грицак – первый заместитель председателя СБУ. А тот ему начал: “Ты знаешь, с кем ты разговариваешь?” Тот говорит: “Давай на нейтральной территории встретимся, обсудим железнодорожный узел, Дебальцево, и доставку… А тот начал: “Да ну, с кем ты разговариваешь”. Как-то ему намекнуть, что тот тоже человек немаленький, он генерал-полковник, кстати.
С: Алло, Вить. А тема там какая?
М: А тема Дебальцево и поставок туда наличных.
С: А, это он по этой же теме, я понял.
М: Этот человек – он первый зампред СБУ. Это тот, который со мной работает, и по пленным в том числе.
С: Я читал, его назначили, в том числе по пленным. Хорошо, сейчас попробуем что-то сделать, да.

Медведчук: Но если давать это в контексте двух законов, то вот этот Совет городов я выбросил. Потому что якобы есть тот закон… Это ж я давал для нашего президента, который как бы посмотрел и говорит: “Предложи”. Я говорю: “Это не подойдет”. “А ты предложи”. Ну я предложил. Это не подошло. Все, завтра появляется… Его же нет, он в отъезде, его нету? Он же уехал, а только будет завтра.
Сурков: Угу.
М: У меня такое предложение. Вот, что я тебе послал тогда раньше. Где этот Совет городов был.
С: Да!
М: Да-да, у меня он есть.

In them, the parties discuss ties with the “DPR” terrorist “minister of defense” Kononov, corruption schemes in the occupied territories (delivery of cash to Debaltseve), as well as the creation of a certain Council of Cities.
In addition, judging by the recording, Surkov allegedly voiced his vision of the Minsk Agreements and the special status of Donbass to Medvedchuk. His interlocutor, proceeding from the dialogue, took an active part in prescribing a scenario beneficial to the aggressor country of Russia.

Hmmm. In this conversation he compromised Koronov, not even knowing his secret nick. Not very professional, by FSB standards. A pro wouldn’t make such grave mistakes. Seems he rather wants to suck up to the mafia. But of course, that does not make it any better.
