Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko held talks in Sochi. And then we went skiing and snowmobiling together

Presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko held talks at their residence in Krasnaya Polyana.

During the open part of the conversation, the presidents discussed economic issues and the situation with the coronavirus. Lukashenko, in particular, thanked Putin for helping the economy of Belarus, and also expressed confidence that the Russian Sputnik V vaccine is the most effective in the world.

The meeting also touched upon the issue of resuming automobile communication across the border of Russia and Belarus – it is expected that it will open by the summer.

Negotiations between the presidents lasted about an hour and a half, after which they went skiing and  snowmobiling . After that, the meeting will continue in the format of an official dinner.
