Medvedev notes large-scale violations of US election law

According to the deputy chief of Russia’s Security Council, the most acute situation arose as a result of the mass postal voting, which brought Joe Biden a reported majority during the counting of ballots

MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. The deputy chief of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev believes that there were large-scale violations of the election law during the US presidential election.

“There have also been large-scale violations of the election law,” he wrote in his op-ed published by tass.com on Saturday. “All of this is hardly consistent with those norms of democracy that Washington arrogantly imposes on other countries,” Medvedev added.

“The United States still has no standard procedures for voter registration, voter identification, ballot issuance and submission. According to the nonprofit organization Judicial Watch, by September 2020, 29 out of 37 states had 1.8 million more registered voters than actual eligible voting-age citizens. This is largely due to the fact that there is no such concept as a domestic passport or some kind of residence registration in the US, so when shifting their place of residence, people often fail to remove themselves from the voter list. In addition, there were occasions of people who had long since died having voted for one of the candidates,” he explained.

The most acute situation arose as a result of the mass postal voting, which brought Joe Biden a reported majority during the counting of ballots, according to Medvedev. “It is not even that Democrats created a controversial opportunity to gain votes from a passive part of their electorate, using the pandemic as an excuse. They encouraged a more active use of the mail-in voting procedure, which had been widely used only in some states during previous campaigns. According to Donald Trump, this paved the way to uncontrolled machinations,” he noted.

  • If Medvedev really wants to comment on US elections from Putlersburg he really should read the 10th amendment first. States have rights.

    • Medvedev is on the button about the violations of law in the 2020 election. A crook recognizes crookery. The states do not have the right to violate their own law. he’s also correct about registration and voter ID. The US has no place criticizing anyone else about corruption until they clean up the corruption that has been taking place over the last 100 years in their elections. What happened in 2020 was not a recent thing. The difference is the amount of corruption in the election.

  • I didn’t see any voting booths set up in car parks in the US, or politicians handing out bags of buckwheat. No politicians shot themselves in the back four times, or were poisoned with Novichok. No Russian websites are infiltrated with US trolls spouting vile insults at all and sundry, because as we all know, the elections in Muscovy are just a sham. The only thing to decide, is the amount by which Putin “won”.
