Pentagon orders two patrol boats for Ukraine – Defense Express
The U.S. Department of Defense has announced the signing of a contract with SAFE Boats International for the production of Mark VI patrol boats, two of which will be handed over to Ukraine, according to Defense Express.
“The cost of the contract, according to a statement posted on the institution’s website, is $19.96 million and provides for the manufacture of two boats specifically for Ukraine,” the report reads.
According to the report, the boats will be transferred to Ukraine under the U.S. government’s Foreign Military Sales program, which involves the production of 16 Mark VI patrol boats. Some of them will be handed over to Ukraine as part of assistance from the United States.
