“Kazakhstan simply did not exist, northern Kazakhstan was not inhabited at all. They existed, but much to the south. And, in fact, the territory of Kazakhstan is a great gift from Russia and the Soviet Union, “Nikonov said.

Participants in political talk shows on federal TV channels regularly talk about the fact that the former Soviet republics should be grateful to Russia for their territories or the resources invested in them during the Soviet era. Most often, such assessments concern Ukraine. Usually such statements go unnoticed at the official level.
