Belarus expands sanctions against EU

The Belarusian authorities decided to include representatives of the leadership of the European Union and a number of European countries in the sanctions lists and to suspend the dialogue with the EU on human rights, said the Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei in an interview with Belarus-1 TV channel.
“If we are affected, if any sanctions are imposed against us, we will, of course, be forced to adequately respond. You know that the European Union has imposed additional sanctions against a dozen and a half people. We will also expand our sanctions personal lists,” the minister said.
In addition, according to Makei, Minsk is suspending the dialogue with the European Union on human rights issues, as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Investment Bank (EIB) have decided to freeze their cooperation with the republic.
“We suspend this dialogue until the European Union decides to change the policy of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank,” the Foreign Minister said.
He also stressed that the main course of Belarus is focused on Russia, but the country is not going to give up other areas of foreign policy.
“We have always said that Russia is our main strategic ally and main partner, and whether we like it or not, the main vector, the emphasis of our cooperation will be in this direction,” Makei added.
The EU has already imposed two sets of sanctions on Belarusian officials. The blacklist includes 55 representatives of the country’s leadership, including Alexander Lukashenko and the security forces. Ukraine has joined these restrictive measures.

Whether you like it or not, is no longer an option. Now that you have suspended dialogue with the EBRD and the EIB, you will have to go crawling to Muscovy to develop your shithole country, and we all know the Russian version of development. Steal everything they can, and leave the place as an even bigger shithole.

“He also stressed that the main course of Belarus is focused on Russia…”
Normal people would be too embarrassed to say that. Or, what do you call a country that is worse off than the crime syndicate and trash country that it depends on to survive?

Notice that Muscovy sanctioned the UK at weekend, and like an obedient puppy, Luka follows his master. Not that their sanctions are anything but a token gesture for the sheep. They know full well if the UK or EU ever put devastating sanctions on either country, they are sunk.

That’s right. But, they also know that there is no one in the UK or EU with enough balls to create such devastating sanctions.

Any step towards Putin will mean less sovereignty and more oligarchy. The annexation is almost complete.
Moldova, South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Crimea, half of the Donbas and now all of Belarus, when will Europe open their eyes to reality and get off their ass and sanction the stunted Stalin?

As long a Russian money is flowing into German bank accounts, nothing will get done. If the money ever runs out, then you might see the hot air specialists get off their fat asses and do something constructive.

Do you speak Russian? I’ve tried to learn but I find it very difficult 😦

No, and I don’t want to either. With my wife speaking English, I’m just too lazy to learn the native language. It does lead to some interesting communication with her relatives. 😂

Here it’s going in a mix of Swedish, as she has started to learn, Norwegian and English. Maybe we can get it certified as a new language 🙂

“Queen Elizabeth II has granted Russian-British media mogul Yevgeny Lebedev the title of “Baron of Hampton and Siberia,” according to the British government’s official journal of record The Gazette.
The British monarch conferred a lifetime peerage to Lebedev, 40, after his longtime friend Prime Minister Boris Johnson nominated him in July. Reports suggested that Lebedev’s introduction into the House of Lords met a delay over his request to include “Moscow” in his title and the need for London to make a formal request to the Russian government.”

To late to save England from Russian influence 😉

I fear, not in our lifetime. There is no one around in Western politics with anywhere near enough courage to stand up to the little dwarf (pardon the pun). On the contrary. First, Merkel et al were putting Nord Stream II on the chop block after the attempted murder on Navalny. Now, you hear crickets and even some who are confident in the pipeline being finished.
