An ambulance worker from Khakassia complained to Putin about the critical situation with COVID-19. Ministry of Health sent specialists to the republic
Due to the current situation with the spread of COVID-19, specialists from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Roszdravnadzor and other leading subordinate institutions of the ministry were sent to Khakassia.
“Experts will audit the organization of medical care to the population, as well as provide practical assistance to patients with a new coronavirus infection and organizational and methodological support,” the department’s website says.
Earlier, a video appeared on YouTube and local media with the appeal of an unnamed ambulance worker from Abakan to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. In it, he says that the republic is sorely lacking places to treat patients with COVID-19, and pharmacies do not have the necessary medicines.
We take patients to hospitals for the sake of unsubscribing, so that the doctors relieve themselves of responsibility. They are sent home for treatment. The places that are allocated are sorely lacking. What is allocated, they are killed literally in a day, in two. The Ministry of Health, the government – everyone shouts with one voice that everything is fine with medicine, we have medicines … There are no medicines or antibiotics in pharmacies. What we have is a price increase by five or six times.
We stand in lines with patients for 6-10 hours, some of them are just heavy. In six hours the oxygen in the car runs out. It is good if the hospital will give oxygen to connect to the patient.
The regional Ministry of Health commented on the video with the doctor’s appeal. As TASS was told in the press service of the department, there really was a queue of ambulances, about which it is said in the video, but almost a week ago – on the day of the opening of the temporary department for patients with COVID-19 in the Republican Hospital named after Remishevskaya. “Last Monday there was a queue of ambulances for obvious reasons – the institution prepared 150 beds for the sick. The video was filmed just at the moment when patients began to be actively brought to the department, ”the ministry said.
According to the federal headquarters for the fight against coronavirus, in Khakassia, a total of more than eight thousand cases of COVID-19 have been identified. 84 people died, 5.8 thousand people recovered.
In total, over 1.7 million cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Russia. 30.5 thousand people died, 1.3 million recovered. The last three days in the country have revealed 20 thousand new cases of coronavirus. Despite the growth in statistics, the federal authorities have repeatedly stated that they do not plan to introduce a new lockdown due to the pandemic.
The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation reports that, in addition to Khakassia, it sent specialists to help in the fight against the virus in St. Petersburg, Kemerovo, Kurgan, Irkutsk and Tver regions, Altai and Stavropol Territories, the republics of Altai, Sakha and Crimea, as well as Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
