Snowden to seek Russian citizenship

Ex-CIA worker insists on keeping his U.S. passport; the Snowdens intend to be “raising our son with all the values of the America we love”

Former agent of U.S. special service Edward Snowden decided to file an appeal to obtain the Russian citizenship. He reported that on Twitter.

“After years of separation from our parents, my wife and I have no desire to be separated from our son. That’s why, in this era of pandemics and closed borders, we’re applying for dual US-Russian citizenship”, he wrote.

Snowden added that he and his wife Lyndsey “will remain Americans, raising our son with all the values of the America we love—including the freedom to speak his mind. And I look forward to the day I can return to the States, so the whole family can be reunited”.

Edward Snowden is an American computer professional, ex-CIA employee and former contractor for the United States government, who copied and leaked classified information from the National Security Agency (NSA) in 2013 without prior authorization. His disclosures revealed numerous global surveillance programs, many run by the NSA and the Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance, with the cooperation of telecommunication companies and European governments. The White House considers him a criminal.

Only one problem traitor. You have to be in the US to do that, not a third world shithole, and terrorist state that has no regard for human rights. I hope Muscovy give him Russian citizenship, then the US have at least two reasons to remove his US citizenship. (1) applying for and obtaining naturalization in a foreign country, provided the person is at least 18 years old. (2) conviction for treason or attempting by force to overthrow the U.S. government, including conspiracy convictions.

    • A natural born citizen of the US can not have his citizenship revoked. He could be tried for espionage and executed if convicted.

    • He has no choice because he knows too much. We said it here a hundred times, the tiny poisoner will never let him leave. Going through the routine to get citizenship is his bargain to stay alive. His best hope is a bullet between his eyes.
