Opposition Platform – For Life party to do everything in order to preserve memory of people’s feat during Great Patriotic War, – Medvedchuk
The politician believes that the current authorities, like the previous ones, continue trying to rewrite history
On the one hand, the authorities prohibit the use of the term Great Patriotic War, on the other – the previous authorities banned the use of St. George ribbons on awards. This was stated by the Chairman of the political council of Opposition Platform – For Life political party, Ukrainian MP Viktor Medvedchuk during his visit to Zakarpattia.
He stressed that the current authorities, like the previous ones, continued trying to rewrite history.
“Today they are trying to rewrite history, today those who once helped and were in the manuals of fascism, those who respect this category of people, are trying to take all the victory and what happened during 1941-1945 as their merit. That is why we created the public movement called ‘Ukrainian Front for the Protection of Historical Memory’ while celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War,” the politician said.
Viktor Medvedchuk reminded that the Opposition Platform – For Life would do everything to preserve the memory of the sacrifices made during the Great Patriotic War.
“We have done and will do everything to protect the memory of the heroes who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, to protect those who forged victory in the rear, to protect the great feat that was, is, and will remain for centuries and for many generations of the Ukrainian people who are grateful that the territory of Ukraine was liberated as a result of heroism, as a result of the sacrifices that, unfortunately, took place,” he added.
“Therefore, we will celebrate this great national holiday, we will celebrate this victory and we will do everything to ensure that future generations know, appreciate, and glorify those who won the Great Patriotic War, those who liberated Ukraine. Happy holiday, dear friends,” the official summed.
