Most violations are related to illegal campaigning.
In Ukraine, police officers received almost 900 reports of violations on the Day of silence before the local elections, the press service of the National Police stated.
“As of 9 p.m, the national police have recorded 891 reports of violations,” the message informs.
About 500 reports relate to illegal campaigning, in particular, on billboards, in buildings, by istributing campaign materials and setting up campaign tents.
Most violations were recorded in Dnipro, Rivne, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Lviv and Kyiv regions.
Law enforcement officers have opened 29 criminal proceedings, because of obstruction of the work of the election commission, bribery of voters, theft, forgery of seals, deliberate damage or damage to property, hooliganism.
Also, law enforcement officers drew up 109 administrative protocols on violation of electoral legislation.
As we reported earlier, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov issued a statement in which he urged Ukrainians not to violate election legislation.
“I also appeal to the participants of the election process – from candidates to members of the commissions: do not spoil your life with punishment for breaking the law, it is not worth it. Respect yourself and respect the law,” Avakov said.
According to him, almost 140,000 of its employees will be involved in ensuring public order during the upcoming local elections.
I hope that the election will be fair and orderly.
I really hope that Zelensky will be presented with the bill for his gross incompetence and pro-mafia stance.
