A day of mourning was announced in Lviv

On Saturday, September 26, a day of mourning was announced in Lviv in memory of those killed in the AN-26 crash in Kharkiv region.

Literally: “Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy signed an order declaring September 26, 2020 in Lviv to be a day of mourning for those who died as a result of a military plane crash in the Kharkiv region.

Therefore, as a sign of mourning for the dead as a result of the crash of a military plane in Kharkiv region, the State Flag of Ukraine with a black ribbon will be lowered on the administrative buildings of Lviv, utilities, state enterprises, institutions, organizations in the city. ”

Prehistory:

In the evening of September 25, an AN-26 military plane crashed near the road in the Kharkiv region on the 530th kilometer of the Kyiv-Kharkiv highway and immediately caught fire.

On board were crew members, cadets and officers of the Kharkiv University of the Air Force of the Armed Forces. Kozheduba.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, 25 people died and two were injured in the crash.
According to the National Security and Defense Council, the crash of a military plane in the Kharkiv region occurred during a training flight.

September 26 in Kharkiv region was declared the Day of Mourning.

  • It was a hellish event. I saw the photos. Condolences to the loved ones of the victims. These were men who were desperately needed by a country under terrible pressure from the most evil regime since Lenin/Hitler/Stalin.
    Might this tragedy encourage other countries, particularly the Budapest signatories, to increase their level of assistance?

  • Families of those killed in the An-26 plane crash in Kharkiv region will receive UAH 1.5 million of aid each.
    Deputy Defense Minister Ihor Starobinsky said this at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on Saturday, September 26, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

    “The defense minister has made a decision to pay a one-time financial assistance to family members of the killed servicemen. The amount of payment is 750 living wages, which is UAH 1.576 million for each,” he said.

    The official added that payments will be made by the Ministry of Defense.
