BERLIN (Reuters) – The prime ministers of Germany’s eastern federal states have backed a resolution in support of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which is supposed to supply fuel from Russia to Germany, the Bild newspaper reported on Friday.
The German government has questioned the completion of the project after the poisoning of opposition politician Alexei Navalny. Berlin called on Russia to provide an explanation for what it called an attempted murder of Navalny.
Referring to a copy of the resolution, Bild wrote that the heads of government of the eastern federal states of Germany consider the completion of the gas pipeline “reasonable and correct.”
