Zelensky to address UN General Assembly on Sept 23 – Mendel
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky plans to address the United Nations General Assembly online on September 23, presidential press secretary Iuliia Mendel has told Ukrinform.
“Despite the global coronavirus pandemic and the cancellation of many events, the UN General Assembly will be held online. In particular, the UN has prepared a preliminary table of online speeches by heads of state and government at the general debate of the 75th session of the General Assembly on September 22-29. Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech is scheduled for September 23. It will take place in the afternoon,” she said.
The 75th session of the UN General Assembly will open on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. The UN will mark its 75th anniversary with a one-day high-level meeting at the opening of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly. This special event will take place on September 21, 2020. The first day of the high-level General Debate will be Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
