Ukraine, Sweden discuss cooperation on infrastructure projects within ‘Great Construction’
Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko and CEO of the Swiss financial company UBS Sergio Ermotti have discussed the UBS group’s support for infrastructure projects within the Great Construction project in Ukraine, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry has reported on Facebook.
“Our priority is the development of infrastructure and roads in Ukraine. UBS has excellent experience in financing such projects. It is also important for us that Swiss banks return to Ukraine,” said Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.
Sergio Ermotti noted great interest in Ukraine. In particular, UBS monitored Ukraine’s success during the transaction to the issuance of new 12-year Eurobonds and the issuance of the old ones, as UBS has traditionally invested in Ukrainian sovereign Eurobonds.
“It was really a very successful transaction that aroused great interest from international investors. This is a sign of positive structural changes in Ukraine and progress in implementing reforms,” said Sergio Ermotti.
As Ukrinform reported, Great Construction is a joint project of the President and the Government of Ukraine, which involves the construction of roads and infrastructure throughout the country.
