SBU says persons cooperating with Russia should be banned from running in elections
The security chief also advocates barring from electoral lists persons with dual citizenship.
Ukrainian legislation should be amended to prohibit political parties to include in their electoral lists those cooperating with the aggressor state Russia, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Ivan Bakanov, has noted.
Also, Bakanov stands for barring from being elected persons with dual citizenship, according to the press service of the National Security and Defense Council.
With a preventive purpose, the SBU will inform all participants in the electoral process of criminal liability for violation of the electoral legislation, Bakanov told the meeting chaired by NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov on the proper and safe organization of local elections in Ukraine on October 25.

Local elections in Ukraine have been scheduled for October 25, 2020.
At the same time, due to the impossibility of ensuring representation of common interests of the territorial communities in villages, townships, and cities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, local elections of Donetsk and Luhansk regional council deputies shall not be scheduled or held in these areas.
Local elections throughout Ukraine may be postponed in case the epidemiological situation worsens.
