“There is no more Belarusian special forces”. Videos appeared on social networks in which former military personnel throw out their uniforms in protest
Video messages began to circulate in social networks, in which Belarusian special forces were throwing uniforms and insignia into garbage cans, thus protesting against the dispersal of peaceful demonstrations in the country.
The video, in particular, is massively published by the popular opposition telegram channels Nexta Live and Belarus of the Brain.
“I am very ashamed that I served in the troops that are now beating and maiming people,” a former soldier said at one of them.
“I took an oath to protect my people, and I am ashamed of what mayhem is happening now.”
“There is no more Belarusian brotherhood, special forces of Belarus”.
“I cannot be proud of where I have served, I cannot wear this uniform and keep it at home.”
Riot police and the military disperse the rallies that began in Belarus on August 9 after voting in the presidential elections in the country. The protesters are beaten during arrests; in the previous three days, at least 250 people were hospitalized. In total, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, from August 9 to August 11, about six thousand people were detained at rallies, and the detentions continued on August 12.
