Since the fall of the USSR Eastern Europe has become a war zone. From the collapse of Czechoslovakia to the wars in Yugoslavia, Moldova, Georgia and Ukraine.

Moscow continues to destabilize all of Eastern Europe in an attempt to sabotage the spread of democracy, stability, prosperity and the rule of law.

In this context the response of the West makes no sense. Nato appears weak and effortless to encounter the threat. And Ukrainians prove to be naïve. Do they really believe Moscow will stop the occupation of the Donbas and return the Crimea? Well, at least the latter will never happen. And by voting one oligarch after another into the presidential office Ukrainians prove their lack of understanding concerning true democracy.

It is time for a new leadership, young and not connected to oligarchs. And if territorial concessions would help end the conflict, they should be made bravely, no matter what the sackless leaders, who never truly supported Ukraine’s cause, say.

Ukraine needs democracy, needs the rule of law, needs borders, and needs investors from progressive western countries. And mostly, Ukraine needs Nato membership.

I hope whoever will be next president, will fix Ukraine for the sake of her unique and wonderful people. Stop living in a fantasy world, think like a chess player, and make realistic and smart moves to turn the self-declared winner into a loser and make Ukraine great again!

  • Regimes that put former reformers like Tymoshenko and Poroshenko on trial, are not democratic. Period.

  • Ukraine needs a leader who is hard as nails and twice as devious as the rodent fuhrer. If I had to pick someone from history, I’d go for Gen George Patton.
A famous quote from the General:
“The difficulty in understanding the Russian is that we do not take cognizance of the fact that he is not a European, but an Asiatic, and therefore thinks deviously. We can no more understand a Russian than a Chinaman or a Japanese, and from what I have seen of them, I have no particular desire to understand them, except to ascertain how much lead or iron it takes to kill them. In addition to his other Asiatic characteristics, the Russian have no regard for human life and is an all out son of bitch, barbarian, and chronic drunk.”

    • I recall what ViKtor Belenko, the pilot who flew a MiG 25 to Japan back in the 70s said when asked how many Russian men were alcoholics. He asked what and alcoholic was. He then said over 90%.
