Deputy Head of Russian presidential administration Dmitry Kozak claimed that his country withdraws from negotiations on Donbas conflict with his Ukrainian colleague, Andriy Yermak. The Russian official claimed this in his letter to German chancellor Angela Merkel, news agency reports.

Kozak called the ongoing format of negotiations “meaningless”, offering to drop it – as well as the document that the sides worked on within the Normandy format’s frameworks.

“This leads me to a thought to stop the meaningless talks (…) I claim, with all of my responsibility that I have no intention to keep participating in this endless charade with blatant simulation of live action to solve the conflict”, Kozak said.

He added that the experiment may last, but without Russia’s participation in it.

Kozak offered assistants of leader of Normandy Four member countries to focus on solely technical support of their meetings.

Earlier, Andriy Yermak claimed that the meeting of political counselors of leaders of the Normandy Four that took place in Berlin on July 3 speeded up the next summit of the countries’ leaders.
