Leonid Kuchma withdraws from the negotiation process in Minsk format. Zelensky understands
Former President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma has withdrawn from the negotiating group on the Donbass in Minsk. This is said in the press service of the President’s Office.
It notes that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked him for the work at the helm of the Ukrainian delegation of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG).
The President stressed that he respects the decision of Leonid Kuchma to stop participating in the TCG activities.
“Thank you for all the efforts you have made to unblock the Minsk process in order to achieve peace. Your experience was crucial and extremely necessary. Always ready to hear your advice in the future”, – he said during a meeting with Leonid Kuchma on July 28.

“On July 22, the Trilateral Contact Group has agreed to implement a new ceasefire starting on July 27. The ceasefire was breached within less than an hour.” [Kyiv Post]
Well, maybe THAT had to do something with his leaving the dead horse circus show.

Kuchma was a fool to sign Minsk in the first place. Minsk is completely unworkable, and Russia won’t hold up its end of the bargain. Putin does not make his word good.
