President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated Germany on the beginning of its presidency of the Council of the European Union.
“Congratulations to Germany with the assumption of the presidency of the EU Council. Ukraine shares European values and moves towards the EU. With new challenges of the COVID-19 everyone needs old friends – to learn our lessons, reshape and restore the global sustainability,” Zelensky posted on Twitter.
On July 1, Germany took over the presidency of the EU Council from Croatia for the next six months.

BS Zelensky, it’s a toss up which values are the worst, Russian or the EU. Ukraine unfortunately are sandwiched between both of them.
Germany always controls the EU. They now only do it officially for some time.
