The data state that Ukraine first sold 80 tons of masks to China in January-February and then bought Chinese ones in March.
Ukraine exported more than 500 tons of medical masks prior to the coronavirus epidemic: 18 of them – to Russia. At the same time, Moscow was buying masks for less price than other countries. This is stated in the response of Ukraine’s State Customs Service to the request of former MP Volodymyr Ariev. The document was published on Facebook.
“Customs was finally able to respond to my request, less than three months later. So, in January-February this year, Ukraine sold over 500 tons (!) of medical masks abroad. Do you remember the deficit at the beginning of quarantine? Exactly,” Ariev wrote.
He also noted that Ukraine had first sold 80 tons of masks to China in January-February and then had bought Chinese ones in March.
In addition, Ukraine exported 18 tons of masks to Russia at a price of 3.3 thousand dollars per ton. At the same time, China was buying these masks for 45 thousand dollars per ton, and Poland – for 18.7 thousand dollars per ton.
As we reported earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has opened the criminal proceedings against six companies, which did not supply protective means for medics after payment or provided low-quality goods.
