Judge removed from office after being busted with bribery

A judge of Kharkiv court has been removed from office, as law enforcers busted him with bribetaking. Press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office reported that on June 23.
The official has been suspended for the time of pre-trial investigation.
The investigation found out that when the judge considered a criminal case, he demanded a bribe in thge amount of USD 4,000 from the lawyer of the defendant. Instead, he offered to pass the decree that guaranteed thatt the defendant would get back the money seized from him during the pre-trial investigation. The sum made more than USD 30,000.
When the judge received money, he made the respective decision.
On May 28, he was served with suspicion notice, and on June 19, the court appointed a bail in the amount of almost six million U.S. dollars.
