Russia threatens Ukraine with ‘irreparable consequences’ if Kyiv attempts to change Minsk agreements

If Ukraine tries to amend the Minsk agreements, it will face “irreparable consequences”, stated the representative of Russia in the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbass (TCG) Boris Gryzlov, RIA Novosti reports.

“Any attempts by Kyiv to change the Minsk agreements, including changing the order of steps to be implemented, can lead to irreparable consequences,” he said.

In addition, the Russian representative made it clear that control over the Russian-Ukrainian border before the elections in the territories which are not controlled by Ukraine will not be granted to Kyiv. For the Ukrainian authorities to gain control over the border, Gryzlov stated, it is necessary to grant Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics special status, declare amnesty, and hold elections.

“Given the statements of both Ukrainian nationalists and a number of Kyiv officials about their plans to “cleanse” the recalcitrant territories, such Kyiv control is a threat of genocide against the residents of the Donbas,” he added.

At the same time, Interfax-Ukraine news agency, citing a source close to the negotiating group, reports that Gryzlov did not participate in the last TCG meeting.

“Mr. Gryzlov’s comments, made allegedly on the results of the TCG’s work today (May 27), in which he again criticizes Ukraine for the supposedly passive position of the Ukrainian delegation, are not true. Mr. Gryzlov did not even take part in the work of TCG today,” the source said.

Earlier, the head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak said that “the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass can return to Ukrainian jurisdiction by the end of the year”.

  • This is a con job. Giving the occupied areas special status in itself will give them borders.

  • The apartment bombings in the Moscow region, the Dagestan and Chechnya invasions of 1999 were all done under the supervision of the rodent, whose handling boosted his popularity greatly and helped him attain the presidency within a few months. The second Chechnya war was unleashed, an entire city was leveled, mass murder of civilians was inflicted : c. 120,000 deaths and a puppet dictator was installed. Alexander Litvinenko and Viktor
Yushchenko were poisoned. Western intelligence services would have known by then that Russia had a fascist dictatorship. Nothing was done. Bush2, Obama and Trump have all failed.
To putler, Ukraine is no different to Chechnya: it’s a possession which must be under his full control. So far his murder gang have refrained from a full scale onslaught on Ukraine because they fear that a real sanctions regime will be enforced. If they calculate that they can withstand any escalation from the US, they will absolutely inflict a full-on Chechnya-type catastrophe on Ukraine. It would not bother them to level the city of say, Kharkiv.
Which is why it is essential now to give Ukraine everything it wants x 2 in order to ensure that it can inflict enormous damage on the fascist regime should it attempt another incursion.

You just admitted that Russia is in full control of the separatists.

    • Yes, can you imagine the Moskali rep for these “diplomatic talks” coming out and trying to tell Ukraine when and under what conditions they can have their borders back? Its like me taking your computer and then when you ask for it back I would say I will let you know when and under what conditions you can have your computer back. Like arguing with a 5-year old…
