Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko has said the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the capital city rose by record 153 in the past day.

“In the past 24 hours, the number of Kyiv residents who tested positive increased by 153, including 17 healthcare workers. Unfortunately, two cases were lethal. As of today, there are 2,221 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 45 deaths, in the capital city,” he wrote on Telegram on May 16.

According to Klitschko, 106 women aged 21 to 77 and 30 men aged 19 to 68 are among those infected. Also, 17 girls under the age of 17 tested positive. Klitschko said 17 new patients had been hospitalized, while the rest were self-isolating, undergoing treatment at home under the supervision of doctors. Twenty-two people recovered from the disease in the past day, he said. In total, 222 Kyiv residents have already recovered.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Klitschko said 81 school children tested positive for COVID-19 in Kyiv’s Darnytsia boarding school for girls on May 15.

    • Let’s hope that a) they expedited lockdown quickly enough and b) have not re-opened too early redders!
They have certain advantages: no direct flights from Wuhan and a negligible chicom population.
Georgia seems to be doing reasonably ok too. However, I only just found out that the Georgian govt allowed the bastards to build a city: ‘Hualing – Tbilisi Sea New City’, on the banks of the Tbilisi Sea (it is actually a large reservoir, despite the name). The owner, Mi Enhua: ‘China’s charity State Council awarded him the “Patriot” Award and Mr Mi occupies an honored place among the 100 PRC’s Philanthropists’, stated that he wanted to help Georgia recover from the trauma of the post SU. If you believe that, you believe anything! Chicoms don’t give a monkey’s wank about anyone but their own vile regime. In my book it’s an invasion. Late last year Georgian families were reporting mysterious pneumonia-like symptoms and a terrible cough. I think we now know what that was.

      • Yes I think Ukraine has done well too, even despite the push from the Kremlin to encourage the ROC in Ukraine to ignore government warnings about the extreme contagious nature of the virus. I would bet the farm that there is a disproportionate amount of ROC in the statistics. And by the way, at the same time, the Kremlin was telling the ROC in Moskovia to stay home especially during Easter.

What is your opinion?
