Ukraine ready to join NATO’s Enhanced Opportunity Partnership program

Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko announced that Ukraine had prepared all critical military bases to join the NATO Enhanced Opportunity Partnership.
“From a military point of view, Ukraine is ready to join the Enhanced Opportunity Partnership program, which will allow increasing the interoperability of the Ukrainian military with units of NATO member states. There is still some ‘homework’ to be done in this direction, but the work is well planned and understood by representatives of Ukraine’s security and defense sector, as well as their NATO partners. From a political point of view, we also observe the formation of a consensus on inviting Ukraine to this format by the Alliance’s close partners,” the deputy premier’s press service quoted Prystaiko following a video conference with the ambassadors of the Alliance member countries and the NATO Mission in Ukraine.
Pristayko emphasized that he expects an invitation for Ukraine already at the next meeting of the North Atlantic Council at the level of defense ministers.
He also stressed that Ukraine continues to advance towards full membership in the EU and NATO, as defined by the Constitution of Ukraine.

Interesting fact. Ukraine rank 27th in the Global Firepower list. Only 9 NATO states rank above them. Common sense would say inviting Ukraine into NATO can only strengthen the organisation.

It was once a fine organisation but it has literally lost its sense of purpose and deliberately obscured its entire raison d’être. It is run by a useless crypto-Marxist. Since Georgia was invaded in 2008, the following have joined:
Albania and Croatia (2009), Montenegro (2017) and North Macedonia (2020). None of them have anything useful to offer a military alliance. The following members vary between borderline and actual putinazi assets: Orbanistan, Italy, Spain, Bulgaria, Greece, France, Germany. The only ones that could be relied upon to fight Russia if it came to it are America, Canada, Britain, Poland and Pribaltika. The others are worth jack shit.

I agree with you 100%.

Montenegro and Croatia are useful. Their membership keeps Moskva away from the Adriatic Sea.

Useful in the geographic sense yes, but insignificant militarily. Similarly, I doubt that Turkey would fight Russia while it has Erdogan: dictators tend to stick together. But strategically and geographically Turkey is crucial. It can never be allowed into a formal alliance with putlerstan, since that would give the rodent total control over the Black Sea.

I suppose this might bring the prospect of liberation of the occupied territories a bit closer.

Ukraine would be a far better NATO member than the majority who are members and this includes long-time members, who have become to be afraid of their own shadow.
