MPs preparing new amendments to ‘Land law’: Launch of market to be delayed until July 1, 2021

MPs intend to introduce new amendments to the bill No. 2178-10 “On the turnover of agricultural land”, which suggest a delay in launching the market until July 1, 2021. This became known from the statement of the Servant of the People faction deputy chairman Yevhenia Kravchuk, Interfax reports.
“The start of the land market is postponed until July 1 of next year. It will start with the sale of only those units that belong to private owners. That is, at least in the first two years of the land market, there will be no question on the sale of state and communal lands,” said Kravchuk.
She also announced a planned decrease in the maximum concentration of land for individuals during the first two years – up to 100 hectares to one person. After two years, citizens will be able to buy 10 000 ha each.
In the process of phased introduction of the land market, MPs will be able to amend the law based on the economic situation in the country.
Earlier it became known that an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada will be held on Monday, March 30, MPs will adopt a law on the sale of land.
The adoption of the land market law and the banking regulation law are the conditions for Ukraine to receive a new 3-year program of expanded financing. President Zelensky said Ukraine agreed with the IMF to increase programs to $ 8 billion.
