Migration crisis. Erdogan plans to apply to the UN because of Greece’s refugee action
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey considers Greece’s actions against migrants to be illegal, therefore they intend to hold her accountable.
It is reported by TRT .
“ Regarding Greece … This is not the first Greece to demonstrate ignorance of international law. Unfortunately, Mr. Mitsotakis ( Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis – Ed.) Takes a very backward position on these issues. He must first study international law, read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. They should know that the behavior they exhibit on the border line is murder. 4-5 refugees were killed on their border. We will hold them accountable, ”Erdogan said.
Turkish President warned that raise this issue from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly this year.
According to him, Greece should open the border for refugees and give them the opportunity to move to other EU countries.
Erdogan believes that cooperation between Turkey and the EU on migration issues can strengthen the position of both parties.
Recall that after the escalation of the conflict in Syrian Idlib began, Turkey opened its borders with the EU for Syrian refugees.
Illegal migrants are trying to move to the European Union both by land and by sea.
On February 29, the first skirmishes of migrants with law enforcement officers on the Greek border took place: migrants threw stones at the police, and they used tear gas in response .
