Putin’s people disown Surkov’s statements about forcing Ukraine to “fraternization”
Russia does not pursue a policy of forcing Ukraine to fraternal relations. This was stated by press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov to journalists, – TASS reports.
“No, there is no such policy”, – he said.
As previously reported, former assistant to the president of the Russian Federation Vladislav Surkov called in interview coercion to fraternization by force the only method that had historically proven effectiveness in the Ukrainian direction.
Peskov noted that the Russian Federation allegedly pursued a consistent policy aimed at facilitating the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
“No, this is untenable”, – Peskov said, answering the question whether the vector of the Ukrainian direction of the Kremlin’s policy has changed after Petro Poroshenko resigned from his post. – A coherent policy aimed at facilitating the implementation of the Minsk agreements in every possible way is being pursued”.
Peskov left statements of Surkov, who stated that he could not imagine the return of the occupied Donbass to Ukraine, without comment.
